Next priority on the list for the NYC Mayor

The NYC Mayor's Office stated a new division is in the works for e-bike safety. Note safety and not enforcement.

This came after 4 dead from e-bike fire in lower Manhattan.

As of this year, there were 108 fires in NYC from lithium-ion which resulted in 13 deaths so far and 66 injuries.

With joint cooperation between FDNY and NYC Small Business Administration, a new program will be released to educate people on the dangers of not handling e-bikes properly.

One of the issues is fining small businesses that operate e-bikes as well as safety instructions in multi-languages.

This is the fifth program the Mayor is working to accomplish after rat control, gun violence, garbage compartments with locks and open streets as part of climate control.
