Newborn dumped in Ozone Park

Police have closed off 126 Street by 107th Avenue reporting a walker discovered a new born baby in the alley. It was next to the garbage with umbilical cord attached. ESU is working at the scene. EMS transported the baby to a local hospital. Under NY safe haven law, Abandoned Infant Protection Act, babies less than 30 days old can be given up without prosecution and anonymously. Update - The mother has been arrested after investigation. The male baby is at the hospital recovering.
