New waste hauler deadline for northeast Queens

The city's Dept of Transportation, the world's largest government service funded by taxpayers has announced a new deadline for northeast Queens businesses. February 28 is the deadline to sign up with a private waste hauler. This is part of the city's new agenda to make a safe and clean environment that was mandated under Local Law of 199 called Commercial Waste Zones.

The sanitation dept has created 20 commercial waste zones and three authorized three carters to offer curbside services in each zone according to the statement.

Businesses must sign a new service agreement with a zone-authorized carter when their zone is rolled out.
