New love is fine but local one got to get a job in NY

Bracing for Medicaid cuts from the Trump Administration affecting NY, the Governor's office stated no migrants will be affected but local residents. The state's Medicaid budget is at $124 billion, one of the largest in the country and proposed $252 billion to make it viable is not happening. The migrants are a priority in NY and must be protected.

Despite NY Comptroller's Office finding $1.2 billion, that's $1,000 million taxpayer funds were paid for members who may have resided outside of NY and reporting that as an issue but the money won't be recovered. A formal audit will go nowhere.

NY does have the budget without the federal support for medical coverage but most of the money goes to unions for recruiting and retaining more health workers including the most powerful labor union, 1199 that's a political machine. The Governor approved $646 million of Medicaid money for those programs.

Under the legislation by the Trump Admin, able-bodied adults who have no children and are between the ages of 19 and 64 are required to complete at least 80 hours per month of work, volunteering, education, or job training to maintain Medicaid eligibility. This is upsetting many New Yorkers.

Numerous groups are exempted from the work requirement, including parents, guardians, caretaker relatives of dependent children, disabled family members, individuals with disabilities, people with substance use disorders and serious medical conditions, veterans with disabilities, and former foster youth.
