New York State police arrest Cadyville woman for grand larceny and issuing bad checks

On May 30, 2026, members of the New York State Police arrested Kathy J. Shatraw, 62, of Cadyville, NY, and charged her with one count of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree (property value greater than $1,000), two counts of Petit Larceny, and three counts of Issuing a Bad Check.

On May 18, 2026, at approximately 10:10 a.m., troopers received a complaint regarding a tenant who had allegedly issued multiple checks for rent payments despite insufficient funds being available in the associated bank account.

An investigation determined that Shatraw knowingly issued several checks without sufficient funds to cover the payments. The total amount of unpaid funds was approximately $3,000.
