New Hyde Park man arrested after crashing into police vehicle in Greenvale

Police arrested Keith Dillon, 29 of New Hyde Park after allegedly crashing into police vehicle on Glen Cove Road on Monday, December 31 around 2:30am. The crash resulted with one of the officer of Nassau County Dept into hospital. The officer has been identified as Willard Gomes, a 12 year veteran of the force. Gomes was inside unmarked patrol car when the incident happened. Charges are pending against Dillon due to ongoing investigation. Update - Dillon has been charged with assault 2nd degree, vehicular assault, criminal possession of a controlled substance and DWI.
