NYS police arrest suspect after vehicle pursuit and injuries to officers at Greece Ridge mall

On December 5, 2024, at approximately 4:28 p.m., the New York State Police, while assisting the Marshals Task Force and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, attempted to take a suspect, Dherise M. Dates, age 18, of Rochester, NY, into custody. The suspect was entering a stolen vehicle, a 2018 Lincoln MKC, in the parking lot of the Greece Ridge Mall in the town of Greece.

Law enforcement approached him as he entered the vehicle.  Dates attempted to escape from his parking spot, striking a State Police Investigator and a Monroe County Deputy.

This is an ongoing investigation.
