NYS Police seek armed robbery suspect who fled traffic stop

The New York State Police is seeking a suspect wanted on armed robbery charges in Auburn, NY, who fled on foot from Troopers following a pursuit that ended on the Berkshire Spur of the New York State Thruway near Exit B1 in Rensselaer County.

Edgard David Torres, age 40, is considered armed and dangerous. If you spot this subject, do not approach and call 911.

On January 31, 2025, at about 9:30 p.m., State Troopers patrolling New York State Thruway spotted a vehicle wanted in connection with an armed Robbery in Auburn, NY, which had fled a traffic stop earlier in the evening on Montgomery County.

Troopers deployed a tire-deflation device and the vehicle was disabled on the Berkshire Spur near Exit B1 in the town of Schodack. Both occupants of the vehicle fled into the woods. One of the suspects was apprehended, but Torres has not yet been located.

Torres is described as a male, 5'9" in height, weighing 240 pounds.
