NYPD to under go revamp this year under the new Mayor

The new Mayor who is in favor of defunding the NYPD has confirmed no new promotions until July due to budget cuts.

At the same time, the unit, SRG, Strategic Response Group is being dismantled to be completely eliminated since this is where protesters are involved according to the Mayor’s office. The other change is overtime will be capped to 30 hours maximum for each officer. So far, the NYPD work force has seen over 5,000 cops submit their early retirement as of date since last year.
