NYPD issued safety alert in Queens

The NYPD issued a safety alert for Queens today after multiple victims were followed from sidewalks to inside their apartments with robberies. Police officials stated civilians are advised to remain alert and check their surroundings while walking home.

Astoria, Fresh Meadows, Bellerose and Bayside reported the most incidents. The latest incident was in Astoria this morning where a victim was followed into the apartment and was robbed around 5am. This is on 35th Avenue near 12th Avenue. Police described the suspect as male, black wearing all black. EMS transported the victim to a local hospital.

Northern Blvd and Union Turnpike reported a spike in robbery of victims.

Locals are advised to stay alert.
