NYPD anti crime unit eliminated

The anti crime unit which has NYPD officers in plainclothes is being terminated and no longer will have them in NYC. This means they must be in uniforms when returning to duty. From sources, 600 officers who are part of the unit will be transitioned to other departments, including the detective bureau and neighborhood policing effective immediately. According to NYPD, this is the most effective unit with excellent track record for keeping crimes low. The change is made by the NYPD Commissioner. The statement from PBA Patrick Lynch.
