NYC to launch Mobile Trauma Units

Starting January 2019, NYC will launch Mobile Trauma Units in each boroughs to provide counseling and other services related to gang violence and gun control around crime scene areas. It will be a mobile bus similar to NYPD's command post that will arrive to each area where crime is reported involving guns, armed robbery, gang violence and etc. It will cost the city almost $2 million dollars tax payers fund. Beside counseling, the unit will provide jobs and other services related to courses for GED and more. It was initiated by NYC Council member Vanessa Gibson who stated, ?A lot of people don?t realize once the funeral is over, once the candles stop burning, once the media is gone, people are still suffering, people are still afraid,? NYC officials hopes the program can helps the community to prevent more violence.
