NYC public school update

Two tested positive at PS 139 in Brooklyn and the school will be closed for 24 hours starting tomorrow.

114,000 students homeless living in shelters must go to school in person due to budget cut with technology equipment unable to provide but only in schools along with meals and snacks.

As of today, MLK High School in Manhattan will not be ready for opening on September 21 due to inadequate ventilation. 6,000 students will be moved to different locations or remote learning except for kids living in shelters.

The percentage of families opting for remote learning is at 44% as of today, up by 2% from yesterday.

All students, parents and staff can call the new COVID hotline for Test and Trace at 212-COVID19. The public can call the number also.

The mayor advise all to get flu shots. A new ad campaign will be launching in NYC for all to take flu shots.
