NYC mayor unveiled the plan to stop gun violence

With effective immediately, Mayor de Blasio will work with NYPD and community residents to control shootings in the city with emphasis on two neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Crown Heights and Bedford Stuyvesant.
The program is called Central Brooklyn Violence Prevention with increased NYPD presence in 79 and 77 Precincts.
Beside marches with the community to curb gun violence, the mayor says there will be street fairs with information on jobs, youth services, housing, mental health support and medical services.
From there, more locations will be added to control shootings.
NYPD Chief stated the gun violence are all related to gang activities and recent releases from Rikers Island.
