NYC launches Landlord Tenant Mediation Project

NYC mayor announced the Landlord Tenant Mediation Project at the press brief today. The program will provide services to tenants and small landlords starting with low income areas that doesn't have legal representation. This is also for those affected by the pandemic. In order to be eligible, call 311 and qualified tenants and landlords will be working with Community Dispute Resolution Centers, a non-profit center. They will work on the meditation outside the court to solve the issues but not guarantee. Then go to court for legal proceeding. However, NYC mayor still need federal rental assistance support and Cuomo's eviction moratorium expires August 15. Cancel Rent protests have faded.
