NYC is going crazy

Just now for the new year, a fourth police officer was injured in the line of duty from a direct attack by a suspect after responding to a burglary call. This is near the Bronx River Parkway southbound and Bronx Blvd. The parkway is shut down in both directions. The suspect is in custody after multiple shots fired on the parkway. The officer was not shot but injured. The suspect was shot and expected to survive. The suspect was arrested and released on January 9 after sexually assaulting the burglary victim.

Already three police officers shot for this month, two in 36 hours in NYC.

So far 31 people have bullets from gun violence for this month. The latest incident was reported in South Ozone Park when a man was robbed and shot around 5am on 111th Avenue and 113 Street. The 11 month old baby is in recovery according to her mother.

Elected officials are demanding more funds for gun violence programs.

Update - The Bronx burglary suspect died at the hospital.
