NYC and Suffolk will not respond to rat complaints during Thanksgiving holiday

Both NYC and Suffolk County confirmed they will not have their police force respond to rat complaints of gatherings exceeding the 10 person limit for Thanksgiving ordered by the governor of NY. However, Nassau County will respond to the governor's order. According to Richard LeBrun, spokesperson of Nassau police, "For their health and safety, we will continue to educate residents and visitors on the COVID-19 restrictions. If there are repeat offenders to this order, we will work with the Health Department and fire marshals with regard to further enforcement."

However, NYS troopers cannot enforce without the involvement of the local police except non-incorporated locations if the state has control. The governor controls the state troopers.

The NYC mayor quoted, "There's certainly not going to be any enforcement in terms of families."

According to a local legal eagle who specialize in government law quoted, "Anybody harassed, ticketed, arrested for having a big and noisy family and friends gathering, should hand this to their lawyer and go for jury nullification as mandates are not enforceable by government overall."
