NYC Mayor has a message for you all

To all New Yawkers, the Mayor introduced a new program called Adopt a Basin. It's simple and easy to follow.

While you are doing nothing as usual on a rainy day, just go outside and check for the catch basin on your block. Then remove garbage and also don't forget leaves. Please do not move them around but bring your own garbage bag or a container. Also, separate leaves and recycles to the assigned bin for garbage pickup. Be sure to wear gloves and watch traffic. Doing this will help ensure your street's drainage infrastructure is working at its best while the city is facing budget cuts to handle the influx of migrant crisis.

Make sure the water is flowing to the basin properly.

If not, call 311 and the city will record all locations to inspect in the coming weeks, months, years or maybe forget.
