NYC City Council to launch initiative to help young women

An initiative to fight the inequality on women is to be started by the New York City Council and to be joined by the City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito with several of her colleagues. The task force would comprise of experts, social service providers and existing investments for this cause. The main focus would be economic equality, and communities with poverty, HIV infection and deaths. Mark Viverito had quoted that the young women face systemic disparity in all areas of life. The initiative follows the set up of Young Men's Initiative, founded by ex-Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
