NY Governor wants to consider state of emergency at NYC public housing

Over the winter, more than 320,000 were left without heat and hot water. Still to date, February 15, more than 50,000 tenants are without the same situation in NYC. Governor Cuomo reported of considering state of emergency but NYC Dept of Housing and the Mayor's Office replied more funding are needed to repair boilers, roofs and elevators. The NYC housing also reported of failed inspections for lead paints for more than four years. A local NYC Council Member, Robert Cornegy called the Governor's office the NYC public housing is at its worst condition and pose a dangerous threat to public health. The Mayor's Office confirmed of $200 million dollars additional funding but no time frame when it will start.
