Murder suicide shocks Indian community

On Saturday night around 10:30pm, residents in Richmond Hill heard gunshots. This is on 111th Street near 95th Avenue. Further investigation confirmed this was a domestic violence involving two brothers and their mother who arrived from India in the last decade.

The elder brother identified as Karamjit Multani pulled out a gun during a dispute with the younger brother inside the home. Then fired several rounds inside the home striking the younger brother identified as Vipanpal Multani, 27 and their mother. Vipanpal died on the scene inside the home and the mother was wounded. She is in stable condition at a local hospital.

Immediately, Karamjit Multani ran out of home and was found at the intersection of 95th Avenue and 109th Street dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head. 

The medical examiner transported both bodies pending autopsy.

The investigation continues.
