Multiple police officers injured from a fire in Flushing

Firefighters reported a high rise building fire in Flushing this afternoon. The fire started around 3:30pm on Kissena Blvd at the location on the second floor at 43/10. The same fire extended with heavy smoke to the third and fourth floors.

This was a 16 story apartment building.

EMS transported three police officers so far from the fire to local hospitals along with other injured.

The fire is still ongoing and firefighters are working to remove electronic bikes from all units.

By 4:30, the fire was brought under control.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
