Motorcyclist identified from the Garden City crash on Saturday

The NCPD reports the motorcyclist who died after a collision with a vehicle in Garden City has been identified. Detectives released the name identified as Sanan Malik, 28 of Elmont. The incident was reported on Saturday, June 29 at 3:50pm on Old Country Road and Prescott Street involving a Lexus.

The driver of the Lexus was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and released.

Back in 2013, Sanan M. Malik, 23, of Elmont, was arrested on two separate warrants, each charging him with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child in upstate NY. He was arraigned in Oneida City Court and was released on his own recognizance back then.

This brings seven deaths in Long Island. A victim died on the Robert Moses Causeway in West Islip and another one on Friday night in Old Bethpage where a woman was charged with DWI after struck another vehicle. The Deer Park incident where a driver slammed into a nail salon resulted four deaths.
