Motorcyclist dead after crash in Wyandanch

Police reported vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. The motorcyclist identified as Martin Newkirk of Wyandanch died. The driver of the vehicle, Diane King was taken to a local hospital with injuries. It happened at the intersection of South 24th Street and Straight Path near Martin Luther King Junior Elementary around 5:30 p.m. Ongoing investigation.
