Motorcyclist dead after crash in Hempstead

The NCPD is investigating a fatal auto accident that occurred on Tuesday, December 7 around 8:30pm in Hempstead.

According to Detectives, Hempstead Police Department responded to an auto accident at the intersection of Jackson Street and Main Street. The accident involved a 2001 Ford Cargo Van, heading eastbound on Jackson Street and a motorcycle heading northbound on Main Street. The driver of the van was not injured and remained at scene. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to a local area hospital for his injuries and was later pronounced by hospital staff at 9:57 p.m. The investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released at this time.
