Mother charged with murder in death of 5 year old Queens girl

After telling the cops she killed her 5-year-old daughter Fabiana Cabello, a mother has been accused of murder.

Francis Cabello, who is 32 years old, is being accused with murder in connection with the death of her small daughter after she reportedly confessed to the killing in a 911 call.

Prosecutors stated that Cabello may have strangled her daughter to death when she appeared before Criminal Court Judge Jennifer Saint-Preux on Friday. Without bail, she was held.

Preliminary autopsy findings showed that her daughter "sustained scrapes to her face, as well as petechiae to her eyes, heart, and lungs, which are findings that may be seen in situations of asphyxia." Further research is required to determine the cause of her passing.

On Wednesday night, Fabiana, a small child, was discovered lifeless in a Richmond Hill apartment on 110th Street.

Police say they made the discovery shortly before 7 p.m., after responding to a 911 call from the girl's mother.

According to officials, Francis reportedly told the 911 dispatcher, "I murdered my daughter."

The police discovered the mother downstairs when they arrived. "She's upstairs, not breathing," she said to the cops.

The girl was discovered bleeding from her nose and mouth in a bedroom, according to police. Just prior to 7:30 p.m., she passed away at Jamaica Hospital.

Police are investigating the death as a murder, even if the medical examiner will establish the cause of death.

Franklin Cabello, Fabiana's grandpa, claimed he was home at the time and didn't realize what had transpired until the police showed up at his door about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Franklin Cabello stated, "She was in the bedroom, the door was shut. We didn't see anything.

Francis underwent a psychiatric examination at a hospital. She has a history of mental problems, according to family members.

"The mother has mental issues and takes medicine," Franklin Cabello said.

Fabiana was remembered by neighbors as a happy child who spent a lot of time playing outdoors.

"Throughout the summer. According to one neighbor, they used to ride bicycles, scooters, and play around here." "Always cheerful."

The inquiry is still going on.
