Mayor reported crime is down in NYC but SBA says otherwise

Mayor de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner stated in a press conference crime is down and will continue to go down making NYC the safest. According to Sergeant Benevolent Association that oversees 13,000 sergeants both active and retired issued this statement of Labor Day weekend crime stats. The mayor has not responded. However, for the record, NYPD confirmed that hate crimes spiked to 41 percent mainly in Brooklyn. Also, NYPD reported there were fewer arrests after the firing of Pantaleo.
