The bed selling company, Mattress Firm has filed for bankruptcy and plans to close 700 locations to restructure. The Glen Oaks location on Union Turnpike and 256 Street will be closed when announced according to the employees at the store but not confirmed. The largest bed store had competition from Amazon and other online retailers. About 200 stores will be closed by October. There are more than 3,300 stores nationwide. Here are the four locations expected to close from the first round, 945 Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn, 5121 Avenue U also in Brooklyn, 1040 Old Country Road in Plainview and 1462 Hylan Blvd in Staten Island.
