Massapequa resident died after hit by vehicle

The Nassau County police is investigating a vehicular accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at 11:07 pm in Massapequa.

According to detectives, while attempting to cross Merrick Road from the north side to the south side in the vicinity of Carman Mill Road, a male pedestrian was struck by a 2015 BMW traveling eastbound on Merrick Road. The male, 42, suffered head and body trauma. He was pronounced at the scene at 11:14 pm by a Nassau County Police Medic.

The male operator, 19, remained at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
