The NYC Mayor announced the operation, Blueprint for Safety. This includes more patrol beats on the subways and streets along with neighborhood safety teams. A facial recognition technology will be deployed to track anyone carrying weapons.

The other tasks are raising the age for gun possession and trafficking with more penalties.

Now comes this part.

Manhattan DA quoted, "If you are waving a weapon, it is a serious matter. If it is just in your pocket but not used in the robbery it is not a factor."
