Man shot during attempted robbery outside Queens club dies at hospital

A man, 45-year-old Hector Figuereo, died after being shot during an attempted robbery outside the Riviera Gentlemen's Club in Astoria early Thursday. The assailant approached Figuereo, who resisted the theft of his jewelry, resulting in a struggle and the shooting. The suspect fled in a white Mercedes-Benz SUV and was last seen wearing a green sweatsuit. Local business owners expressed concern over the violence, which could deter customers. This incident marks the fifth homicide this year in the 114th Precinct, a significant increase from last year's two homicides. Community members are hoping for a swift police arrest.
