Man found dead in Queens apartment building NYPD

An investigation is underway after a man was found dead in a Queens home on Saturday, according to police.

A 911 call was made at 1:39 p.m. from 555 Woodward Ave. in Ridgewood for an aided male, officials said.

Upon arrival, a 54-year-old man was found unconscious and unresponsive, according to police. EMS personnel who responded to the scene declared the man dead, officials said.

The FDNY tested the substance and confirmed that it contained fentanyl, according to sources.

It is not confirmed if the man’s death was the result of an overdose.

There were no arrests at the scene, according to police. The investigation is ongoing.
