Man charged in fatal Queens stabbing over stolen bike NYPD Says

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection to a fatal stabbing in Queens on Monday, police announced Tuesday.

Nelson Torres has been charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the killing of Anderson Archila-Martinez, 22.

The incident apparently stemmed from a dispute over a stolen bicycle. Multiple reports indicate that Archila-Martinez allegedly tried to steal Torres' bike before the stabbing.

The stabbing happened on Junction Blvd. and Roosevelt Ave around 12:45 p.m., police said.

Officers who responded to the scene found Archila-Martinez with a stab wound to the abdomen.

The 22-year-old was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
