Man breaking into vehicle shot in Laurelton

NYPD reported a retired NYC Correction Officer has shot a suspect breaking into his vehicle in Laurelton. The incident happened on January 30 around 1:15pm on 138 Street and 227 Street.

The officer approached two suspects while breaking into his vehicle and one struck his face with a gun. That's when the officer took out the gun and shot one of the suspect.

After calling 911, the suspect was found on the road with gunshot on the head and was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he remains in critical condition. The other suspect is on the hunt. Ongoing investigation.
