Man arrested for selling alcohol and E liquid nicotine to minors

Suffolk County Police today arrested a Selden man for selling alcohol and e-liquid nicotine to minors in Patchogue.

In response to numerous community complaints, Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers conducted an investigation into the sale of e-cigarettes to minors at J Mart & Smoke Shop, located at 580 Route 112, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on October 11. Ali Zaman, an employee of the store, sold e-cigarettes to an individual working with the Suffolk County Police Department and was observed selling alcohol to minors.

Zaman, 30, of 38 Oakmont Ave., was arrested and charged with two counts of Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 2nd Degree.

The New York State Liquor Authority was notified for the alcohol sales.

Zaman was issued a Field Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on a later date. (From SCPD)
