Malone male arrested for assault 3rd unlawful imprisonment 2nd aggravated family offense and CPCS 7th

On January 3, 2025, State Police members arrested Austin D. Potter, age 24, of Malone, NY, for assault 3rd, unlawful imprisonment 2nd, aggravated family offense, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th.

 On January 3, 2025, at approximately 10:10 a.m., Troopers responded to Murray Street in the town of Malone for a physical domestic dispute.  An investigation determined Potter and the victim were involved in a verbal argument which turned physical when Potter struck the victim in the face.  As the victim was attempting to leave the residence, Potter forcefully pushed the victim back from the holding restraining the victim from leaving.  The victim was finally able to get away from Potter to leave the residence and contact law enforcement.

Potter was arrested and found to have narcotics.  He was transported to SP Malone for processing.  He was arraigned in the Town of Malone Court, where he was released on his own recognizance.
