Male stabbed to death during burglary incident in Flushing

Police are at 57th Road near College Point Blvd in Flushing reporting a burglary suspect climbed on the third floor balcony and stabbed the homeowner.

It happened after 2am when the husband and wife were sleeping and woke to noise from the balcony. The husband was stabbed with a sharp object multiple times. Then the suspect escaped to the balcony landing on the second floor. The second floor residents called 911.

Police arrived within a few minutes after a call tracked to a patrol vehicle in the area. The suspect was managing to get down from the balcony was in the backyard. This is when the police apprehended the suspect.

Detectives are working on the scene.

The 35 year old male suspect is at the local precinct. Police sources stated the suspect, homeless was living in the hotel nearby.
