Major fire broke out in Corona

The FDNY reported two fires broke out in Corona and one was major.

The major one occurred on January 10 around 1am at the local eatery on Corona Avenue near 107th Street and unit 107/20. The fire extended to the second floor apartment shortly. EMS treated all at the scene. The Red Cross helped with all displaced.

On January 11 around 11am, fire broke out on 63rd Avenue near 108 Street. This was a private dwelling where the fire started on the first floor. EMS transported the injured to local hospitals.

The fire marshal is working on both incidents to determine what caused the fire.
