Mail in ballot update for NY

The NYS Legislature drafted a bill to allow all New Yorkers to vote by mail-in citing reason due to COVID-19. Governor will sign the bill in the coming weeks to make it official. At the same time, drop boxes will be deployed at all locations for people to drop them instead of mailboxes, a bill still pending votes for approval in both Assembly and Senate. The new bill allows all to vote due to the pandemic unlike the current which is if someone is ill by medical proof or caring a family due to ill. The absentee ballot will allow all to vote without in person. Cuomo has until Thursday to sign the bill to make it to law in NY.
The general election is November 3 and the deadline to register for absentee ballot is October 9. For absentee voter deadline by mail is October 27, in person is November 2, submission by mail is November 2 and submission in person is November 2. For early voting, October 24 to November 1.
Meanwhile, the United State Postal Service said it cannot guarantee that all November mail-in ballots will arrive in time to be counted due to surge in mail-in ballots. The USPS is working on a plan to raise additional funds to handle volume mail-in ballots by raising prices between October to December after Presiden Trump will not support funding to certain services. Meanwhile presidential candidate Joe Biden attacked Trump for not supporting the USPS fully and mail-in ballots are safe and secure.
