Long time eatery in Glen Oaks closed

The Indian restaurant Santoor on Union Turnpike and 257 Street in Glen Oaks has closed their doors for good. What started as a one man operation on Hillside Avenue and 256 Street 25 years ago took over from the first management has not looked back since then. The eatery was a fixture for the hospital workers with their lunch buffet. According to former workers, the management decided not to renew lease after the pandemic with rent over $15,000 per month plus utilities and overhead costs.
