Long night for firefighters battling fire at three separate locations in Queens

Last night around 11pm, a call came in for a fire at a home on 64th Street near 44th Avenue in Sunnyside. The fire extended throughout the three story home and it took firefighters more than an hour to bring it under control. EMS transported the injured to local hospitals. The entire home has been damaged and the Red Cross assisted with shelters for all involved.

Around 2:30am, FDNY were called to a basement fire in Elmhurst. This is on 98th Street near 25th Avenue. The fire extended to the first and second floor displacing all living there and the Red Cross moved them to shelters.

Then around 3:30am, a major fire broke out at an apartment in Ridgewood on Madison Street near Seneca Avenue. EMS transported six firefighters to local hospitals. The fire marshal reported four buildings were involved due to a fifth alarm resulting in more than 30 families to shelters. By 9am, the fire was brought under control.

The fire marshal is investigating what caused the fire at each of the three incidents.
