Long Island park renamed for the late detective

Today, a Long Island park is renamed after the late Detective Luis Alvarez who died after cancer from September 11 while working at Ground Zero. This is in Oceanside, Nassau County where he lived. NYPD, FDNY, SCPD, NCPD and others have joined the ceremony. Also, today is his birthday and would have been 55 years old.
