Locations matter when reporting violent crimes in NYC

Violent crime has decreased 36% in NYC under NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch as per a press statement this week. However, there were no details of locations where the most crimes are taking place. From NYPD data, three locations continue to rack up crimes in Queens and they are Jackson Heights, Corona and Flushing. As for transit crimes, Jamaica remains the top spot mostly in the vicinity of Archer Avenue, Parsons Blvd, etc.

The latest incident was an armed robbery on Roosevelt Avenue and 70th Street last night and police describe the suspects as males, Hispanics. For Flushing, Kissena Park vicinity reported victims from strong arm robberies by a group of suspects. Downtown Flushing to Corona reported 14 victims from robberies. As for transit crimes, the latest incident is at the local Archer Avenue subway station where a dispute turned into stabbing after midnight.

All incidents remain under investigation.
