Local fire update in the area including brush fire and a fatality in Queens

This afternoon, around 2:30pm, FDNY reported a brush fire on Colden Street. This is near Elder Avenue in Flushing.

On Sunday around 3:30pm, a fire broke out of a second floor home in Queens Village with one dead. This is on 110th Avenue between 221st Street and Springfield Blvd. The medical examiner transported the body to conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

As for Nassau County, there were two brush fire incidents. Around 3pm in Roslyn Heights on Powerhouse Road. This morning around 8am, Old Westbury also reported a brush fire. This is on Rolling Hill Road.

Meanwhile, the NYC Mayor issued a drought warning and would not disclose the brush fire if they are arson or not due to ongoing investigation. As for this, FDNY launched a brush fire task force to deepen the investigation.
