Local Astoria politicians wants trucks on highway to alleviate traffic congestion

Astoria - Local politicians in Astoria wants trucks on Grand Central Parkway between RFK Bridge and BQE to alleviate traffic congestion on the service roads in both directions. This is due to trucks must exit the GCP to continue the traffic causing congestion in local streets. Residents are outraged by road damages and heavy smokes in the area. Elected officials reported that trucks should continue on GCP instead of exiting to eliminate heavy traffic in the area. The Dept of Transportation is looking into this plan. Reported 12pm.
