Line of duty death announced

FDNY Jesse Gerhard, 33 of Ladder 134 died from the injuries after battling a fire in Far Rockaway on Tuesday around 4pm.

Gerhard started as an EMT and later became an FDNY firefighter. He had been in the force for seven years.

He lived in Long Island and volunteered in many activities.

RIP Sir, thank you for your service.
