License plate theft is on the rise in Glen Oaks

As of Thursday, September 28, more than fifteen license plates went missing of vehicles in Glen Oaks. Most of the incidents happened inside the parking lots of Glen Oaks Village Co-op. The rest happened on Little Neck Parkway and 75th Avenue and the public oval park. According to police, license plates are stolen when vehicles remains in one spot for a while going unnoticed. The plates are used for committing crimes elsewhere or used for stolen vehicles. The incidents are all recent from August 2017.
