LIE westbound is a mess in Suffolk County

Long Island Expressway westbound in Suffolk County is closed due to a stolen vehicle pursuit with crash. This is by Exit 53 in Brentwood.

Police reported over five injuries including a police officer, suspect and innocent civilians involved in the crash.

Heavy rescue operation on the expressway.

The police office is transported to a local hospital with serious injuries to the legs.

More police officers are enroute to the scene.
