Juvenile arrested for unlawfully fleeing a police officer

On October 7, 2025, members of the New York State Police arrested a 12-year-old boy from Malone, NY, for unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. He was also issued vehicle and traffic tickets.

On the same day at 8:00 p.m., Troopers were notified of a stolen vehicle complaint that the Malone Police Department was investigating. The stolen vehicle was identified as a 2025 white Chevrolet Silverado. Troopers located the vehicle turning left onto State Route 22 in the town of Plattsburgh. When the Troopers initiated a traffic stop, the driver failed to comply, which led to a pursuit. As another Trooper approached the suspect vehicle from the opposite direction, the vehicle pulled over to the west shoulder and came to a stop.

Troopers identified the driver as a 12-year-old boy from Malone, NY. He was transported to SP Plattsburgh for processing. His guardian was contacted, and he was released on a Family Court Appearance Ticket.

He was later turned over to the Malone Police Department.
