Jamaica slowly eating up by the city to fast track housing

Read the last part if you are a homeowner.

Today the NYC Mayor announced a new program with taxpayer funds called Neighborhood Builders Fast Track. This is on a fast track to build affordable housing in city owned lots. For Queens, the city has been buying buildings, lots, anything available in Jamaica to add more Babylon-like towers. The first project aimed to start is at the location 109-43 Farmers Boulevard in Jamaica where the city is inviting developers. The goal is to add more than 1,000 units within 2 years. One of the advantages of this project is no community boards involved but only City Council has the final say. This is similar to NYCHA where the units will all be for lower income tenants. This is part of the link from Jamaica to Flushing with casino, sports, entertainment venues and so much fun to spend money to enjoy.

The Mayor aims to reach the budget to $10 billion taxpayer funds for housing voucher assistance so all can live affordable in the city.

With towers around one or two family homes in Queens, property taxes, insurance and everything else related to real estate will go up to give city more money.
